PayPal problems

Payment processing by cards might fail if the card(s) attached to the account...

  • won't allow international payments
  • have insufficient funds
  • are being held temporarily by the card issuer

Payment processing via bank account can be deactivated if you have no separate credit card attached to the account and:

  • you use a different device than usual, for example a new smartphone or tablet.
  • you log into your account from another location, for example when you are on vacation.
  • you have deleted the cookies or cache on your device.
  • you have recently made a large number of PayPal payments via the stored bank account and these have not yet been fully processed with your bank.

These can be indications of abuse of the PayPal account. A credit card is therefore required as additional security.  Another possibility why PayPal suddenly wants a credit card: In the past there were problems with paying by direct debit - for example, because there was not enough money in the account.

If the Paypal button doesn't appear to work at all or is missing entirely from the page, then you're likely using a 'safe browsing' page provided by various anti-virus tools.  If you're asked whether to open our shop in a safe-browsing window, always click NO.  If you're no longer being prompted but you believe the page IS opening in a safe-window, take a look at your anti-virus/internet security app's settings where you should be able to remove us from the list of sites to be opened in a safe window.
